Mount Mansfield is the highest mountain in Vermont. The Foxhill condominium complex lies just off the Mountain Road between Stowe and the famous ski area.
The Summer is warm and pleasant with the shared swimming pool at Foxhill open from the beginning of June to the end of August. There is an alpine slide on Mount Mansfield, open during the Summer season as well as a gondola to take you to the top of the mountain. The scenic Stowe Recreation Path runs for over five miles alongside the river towards the mountain. The path is used for walking, running, cycling, roller blading and even skating mothers pushing baby in the stroller. It is less than a mile from Foxhill.
Further afield in Vermont you can visit Montpelier, the Capitol, historic Lake Champlain and the shopping complexes at Burlington (the largest town in Vermont), Quechee Gorge, Woodstock and a myriad of scenic places.
As well as the many attractions of Vermont itself, further exciting day trips can include a ferry trip across Lake Champlain to upstate New York (thoroughly recommended), Montreal, New Hampshire and the White Mountains, and many other options. If you are prepared to go further afield you can whale watch at Bar Harbor, Maine or visit Niagara Falls.
